Create a Rental Listing


 

 

1. Go to Properties from the main menu

 

 

2. Click Add a listing on the left-hand property panel.

 

 

3. Add in property information as required (red asterisks* fields are compulsory fields). 

 

Status - Will default as offline - not ready for public display. You will need to upload all resources before updating the status to available.

For Sale/Lease - select 'For Lease'

Type - Select the type of property being advertised, eg. Residential/Commercial/Rural/Business/Holiday ('Type' can only be changed whilst the property is offline).

Note - that  Business listings cannot be set for Lease because a business cannot be leased. The status would need to be Commercial/Land.

Category - Specifying the style of property eg. House/Apartment/Unit/Townhouse

Additional boxes are available to tick if relevant to the property - 

- New Property / Development

- Off Market Listing

- Hidden Listing

- Feature Property

Select office - This will be an option if there are multiple offices linked

 

 

When the above has been completed, continue with filling in property address details as per below - 

Property Name: - Enter the name of the property if applicable

Level No/ Unit No/ Street No - All address fields are to be entered separately. You can change the display of the address or hide it from the public display later.

Street Name: *

Street Type: *

Suburb: *  Start typing the Suburb then select from the drop-down box. 

State: * - This will auto-generate if Suburb is selected. 

Address Display:  -  This allows you to specify how the address will display on your website and the portals e.g. realestate.com.au, Domain etc.

Option to tick to 'edit the address for your website/media' - This will adjust the display of the address on your website, digital prints, and e-newsletters only.

Note - this does not adjust the address on other portals.

Google Map:  Use the 'Re-position Marker' to position the map correctly or alter the map. Options to also Hide Street View & Hide "What's around" if you would not like to display the map location on the portals.

Key to Property?: - Tick if adding in key number for property - Internal reference only, will not be displayed on portals or public lists

Property Key No -  Internal reference only, will not be displayed on portals or public lists

Access Details - Internal reference only - will not be displayed on portals or public lists

 

 

4. Click Save and Proceed. 

 

5. Under the For Lease tab, fill out details required such as - 

Listing date

Expected on Market

 

After listing dates have been entered, pricing will need to be filled out for the listing - 

Search Price - Numeric value only that is hidden to the public, used to determine the search range on your website and the various portals

Display Price - This is the advertised price and can include all characters and symbols. Maximum 50 characters permitted if exporting to realestate.com.au

Search Price Range - Ability to add/edit a Search Price Range for residential listings when exporting to portals (currently only domain.com.au supports price ranges)

Available from - Enter the date that the property is available and ready to move in

Lease end date - This field is only required if the property is only available for a limited time eg. 12 month lease only

Bond - The bond amount required prior to the commencement of lease date

 

Please note: for rental properties in NSW, the Display Price will be ignored by REA, and the Search Price will be used as the visible price on the realestate.com.au website. This change only applies to New South Wales and does not affect other states or portals.

 

6. Click Save and Proceed.

 

7. The next step is to fill out the property headline and description in the Features tab - 

Main headline - To appear on website and portals when uploaded as heading for advertisement 

Property Description - To appear on website and portals when uploaded as property description in the advertisement

 

 

8.Once main headline and property description have been completed, scroll down on the features tab and complete Property Details -

All information on this screen will be advertised - Note - Single Numeric Values only, no decimals e.g 1.5

Enter the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, car spaces, and any other relevant features. If the property does not have any to display eg. nil car space, the area can be left blank. 

 

 

9. Options to put additional property details such as building specifics are available however may not be necessary for a rental listing. The features tab also allows additional features to be ticked if applicable eg. Air conditioning, Alarm system, built-in wardrobes. 

 

 

10. Click Save & Proceed. 

 

11. The next screen allows you to add an open for Inspection time to be uploaded with the advertisement. If no inspection times have been organized, you will be able to continue to the next tab without selecting a time. 

Under the OFI tab, select - 

Open type -  You can choose whether the inspection is an Open Inspection, Private Inspection, As advertised, or by appointment.  

Open date - Inspection date 

Open time - Enter the start time

Duration - The duration will populate inspection end time

Once the date, time, and duration of the inspection has been chosen, press Add Open Time

 

 

After the Add open time button is pressed, the information will populate and show the information that was entered.

You will also be able to add attendees at this point if a prospective tenant was aware of the property prior to the listing being advertised. 

 

There is also the option to print or download a QR Code for the inspection if you have added in a time. Prospective tenants will be able to use this QR code to self check in. 

 

 

To continue, press Save & Proceed.

 

12. The next step is to assign a listing agent to the listing and also assign a Landlord as a related contact. 

Role - Select role of the staff member before assigning contacts eg. listing agent, property manager.

Agent- Start typing the name of the staff member into the box, the name will populate if contact is found in the system. If contact is not found, the option to 'Add new staff' will appear. 

Once a staff member is selected, click the Add button. 

 

 

Once you select Add, the staff member details will populate in the below boxes. You are able to untick if you do not want the staff member's name on the advertisement. 

 

 

13. Use the same process as above to assign a landlord to the listing. You will also be able to choose their Role eg. Landlord, Owner, Past tenant etc. 

 

 

14.  Click Save and Proceed.

Note - You will be able to add multiple contacts by searching name and clicking the Add button

 

15. Upload any Resources for your advertisement such as property photos, floorplans, links & any supporting documents if applicable.

 Note - A management agreement MUST be uploaded before changing status to 'Available'

 

 

16. Once all resources have been added, click Finish.
